Music Studio- Powering on 

When powering up the studio it is important that each piece of equipment gets switched on in order. First turn on the desk by locating the power switch on the rtar- right hand side. Then turn on the mac, the switch can be found on the rear left side, towards the bottom corner. Then turn on the power conditioner this will send power to any other units you may use during your session. Finally turn on your speakers - it is important that they go on last as turning on the other equipment whilst they are on can cause pops that can damage the speakers.

To send music for playback or to talk to the studio you will have to make sure your desk and headphone amp is correctly set up.
Start by playing music in your D.A.W. Then ensure that 'Digital master to 'L''R' is engaged. Bring up your master faders for left and right. A signal should appear on your level meter. To hear the music in the studio you will need to turn up the control room level. Now you are ready to set up headphones in the studio. Press the mix L&R button in the studio 1 section. First ensure power is being sent to the power conditioner and headphones amp. Power on all units. Now turn up the master volume and the main section making sure not to drive it into the red, Now plug in your headphones to 'phones out' and turn up the level. You should now be able to hear music in your headphones. To talk to the studio ensure the 'To studio' button is pressed down. You should now be able to talk to the stdio when the talk button is pressed. Communication is vital to ensure getting a good recording.

Photography studio- Turning everything on
When in the photography studio it is important that everything is switched on correctly, to make sure no damage is done to the equipment. First start turning both set of lights on. Then connect the hotshot to the top of the camera, this is synced with the light nearest to the window. Set the camera eating to ISO 100, Shutter speed 1/125 and aperture f8. Using the lights nearest to the window, change the stops to 3 this is changing the power. You need this at 3 to get the light to aperture 8. By clicking on the green button this will set the lights to the new settings. It is important that you do this as the light will stay on the previous settings. Clicking on the lighting blot icon on the hotshot, you can make sure that light goes off.

Using the light meter
Using the light meter is important to get the right lighting, this will fit in with
The equipment that you will need to get from the techians office is the light meter, the cable and a camera.
Turning on all of the lights and connecting the cable to the light meter and to the left light nearest the door.
Turning on the light meter, hold down the power until it turns on, side the white button across so that it's closed. Click on the mode to change the settings to the light bolt with the c, this is setting that you need when in the studio. Pointing the light meter towards the light, whilst having it near the subject face. Liking on the slide button, the light will fire off. The light meter will then give you a reading of what the aperture is. Here it is f5.6, and I need it to be f8. Changing the tenth on the right light will up the aperture. when you change the tenths make sure you click on the green button to reset the lights to the new reading. Doing the same again for the light meter, the reading now say f8. If you are using a fill light you can do the same. Making sure the reading is lower then the f8, or it will be a stronger light, which you don't want for a fill light.

Premier pro Basic
Using the basics of premier pro, start off with open the application, and create a new project, name the project and click ok. Set the setting that you have on your camera, this will be depending on the camera, quality and seconds pre fame that you filmed at you depend on which setting you need. If you are not sure sure the college cameras are normally 720, 24fps in Digital SLR. Here my camera settings are DSLR 1080p24. It will tell you when you get further along if the setting are wrong, it will give you the option to change them, make sure you  click 'change the settings' if it gives you the opinion when you start putting your clips into the sequence. Here you can also name the sequence, this will be helpful for you are going to have more then one sequence. Premier pro will now fully be open. Clicking on the bottom left box, and righting clicking the mouse, you can import you clips that you have filmed. Just go into the folder where all the clips are, highlight them all and click import. Once then have all imported you can you can create a folder for them, this will be easier to find your work. You do this by clicking on the folder on the bottom bar, and you can name the folder. For example here I have named it Ellie clips. To create titles you can clip on the  and click on the title. re name the title so it easy for you find and it you have multiple titles you will know which one is which. When creation your title you can, have differ front, size and colour. By clicking the T on the left side bar you can create a title. You can click and drag the box to make how big you want it. Highlight your text you can change the front by clicking on the drop down bar. You can also change the font size, the TT sign is the font you can hover over and click and move the mouse to the left or right depending on what size you want, making sure you are still hovering over the size. You can change the position of where you want the text, this can be found on the right size of the... X position and Y position. You click and move the mouse to the left of right depending where you want it, doing the same as you did for the size of the font. You can also move the text box by clicking on it.  once you have finished with creating your title you can click off it, and drag into into your sequence where you might want it.   You can change your layout in the bottom left corner, I have changed it so I can see the thumbnails of my clips and to what clips are what. Double clicking on my folder I can look throughout my footage and see what I want to use first. Dragging the clip into the top left corner you can cut you clip to how long you want it and where it looks the best. You can also use the keyboard, I (start) and O (out) to cut the footage.You can then drag into the sequence and place it where you want it. Unlinking the clips is where you can delete the audience from the footage without deleting the whole thing.  Right clicking on the clip which is in the sequence, click on unlink. You can then move the audio and delete it. Adding audio in, to add your audio in, go to where you imported your clips and right click and import. once imported you can drag into the sequence.
