Adele- Hello

This music video is for the song Hello by Adele, it was released on the 22nd October 2015 and is mainly narrative lead. However performance is involved within the video. The video is about adele phoning her past, the video follows adele, and shows flashback of  her 'past'. This is shown through her point of view, when you see the man. The video is about 'walking down' memory lane and cutting between present Adele and this guy who is looking her, but the viewer can't see the 'younger' Adele. This is giving the viewer the idea that you are looking feeling like you were Adele. The music video is longer then the song and shows that the music video is very narrative lead.

The song is closure and talking about what happened years ago. At the start of the there are dusty sheets which are on old furniture, this makes the view think that she is going back to the pass.

By using the phone you get the sense what she is trying to reconnect with someone, however as the music video goes further on it you get the impression that she is reconnecting with herself.

Looking back at Andrew Goodwin theories at looking at star image, there are a lot of close ups of Adele, this is for advertising and for the audience to feel closer to her. This links in with the idea of not seeing younger Adele and audience feeling like they are Adele. You could also link the style of video with star image and Adele having this star image of emotional, sad songs. The lighting changing between high key and low key lighting and it been put into black and white. This gives the impression of her being sad and being emotional. This is also shown visual when you see her crying. They have added a filter onto the video which makes it looks like you are looking into the pass, which is linking in with the idea of you looking at her old self.
